INTERPOL launched the first Metaverse specifically designed for law enforcement worldwide at a surprise session of the 90th INTERPOL General Assembly in New Delhi, India.
The fully operational INTERPOL Metaverse allows registered users to tour a virtual facsimile of the INTERPOL General Secretariat headquarters in Lyon, France sans geographical or physical boundaries.

Users can also interact with other officers via their avatars and even take immersive training courses in forensic investigation and other policing capabilities.
“The Metaverse has the potential to transform every aspect of our daily lives with enormous implications for law enforcement,” said Madan Oberoi, INTERPOL’s Executive Director of Technology and Innovation. “But in order for police to understand the Metaverse, we need to experience it.”
