Africa's 1st metaverse expected to create new jobs

Africarare (Africarare.io), Africa's first metaverse, has opened up to the world and is expected to connect Africa to the global digital economy.

Plans were recently announced in Johannesburg for commercialization of the 3D virtual reality experience that is set in Ubuntuland, a virtual world that combines creativity, cryptocurrency, and commerce.

"Our metaverse will connect Africa to this booming arena of the global economy, stimulate growth and create multiple new jobs such as digital designers, creators and architects," said Mic Mann, Co-founder and CEO of Africarare.

Virtual land can now be bought and developed either through private sales or public NFT marketplaces.

Landholders will be able to customize their 3-D land spaces, such as by hosting shops, producing resources, renting virtual services or developing games or other applications.

There will be designated spaces for work, play and social experiences, including meeting rooms, online therapy rooms, concert stages, film festival spaces, learning centers, and other dynamic interactive environments.

The $UBUNTU token will be the currency in Ubuntuland. It is built on the Ethereum blockchain and available from later this year.

The tokens can be used to buy, sell or trade everything in Africarare, including buying, developing, selling or renting plots or villages in Ubuntuland, and the in-world purchases of digital goods and services.
